Shop Durham Region

Durham Region is made up of eight vibrant communities including the cities of Oshawa and Pickering; the towns of Ajax and Whitby; the Municipality of Clarington; and the townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge.

The Shop Durham Region Online Marketplace—with more than one thousand listings from Durham-based retailers and vendors—offers a single, streamlined shopping experience where consumers can safely explore and purchase products from multiple vendors in a single transaction.

Now, more than ever, shopping local will have a big impact on small businesses. Through Shop Durham Region, it will be easier than ever for residents to support local and stay safe. Durham businesses, including those with and without an existing e-store, can join Shop Durham Region for free, elevating their digital presence and making it easier for residents to shop and support local. Funded by Regional Economic Development and led by the Downtown Whitby BIA, the marketplace is available to businesses across Durham.

Businesses interested in joining the marketplace can contact the Shop Durham Region team or sign up online.

“By helping Durham’s small businesses transition into today’s environment of online shopping, we’re enabling a community that supports one another—whether that means supporting behind the scenes through programs like Shop Durham Region, or being the consumer who shops at our local businesses. This is another great example of how our Durham Economic Task Force has come together during COVID-19 to ensure our local business community stays Durham Strong.”
